A thermal effect in conjunction with northerly winds, give way to a very favorable environment for kiteborading. The season begins from mid November and ends at the end of April. The ocean water is warm and there’s plenty of wind in our “kitebeach” hideaway. Conditions vary throughout the day, but there are strong winds at dawn and at sundown. Occasionally, though it is a rare occurrence, the tide rises to the point that there is no beach available for takeoff. This phenomenon will only last for a couple of hours at a time.

The Punta Chame Hotel features a charming restaurant and has a relaxing summer-like atmosphere, especially during week days. Nights are usually windy which gives way to pleasant. 20 minutes downwind from the hotel there is a secret spot with shallow waters and plenty of wind. We have named this little piece of kiteboarding heaven “el laguito”. Wind conditions vary so we recommend that you bring all kites sizes (anywhere from 7 to 20 meters).
